Reflections on Courage

Step forward with faith and let your light lead the way.

"Do not worry. Do not be scared.
You have
nothing to fear.
Now, as always, I am taking
care of you."

Courage asks us to trust that even in the dark, the light within us still knows the way. These reflections are here to remind you that bravery often begins quietly, in a single breath, a single step, a single moment of faith.

You live in fear of being your wonderful, magnificent self. Why?

Stop pretending that you are insignificant, that you don’t matter, because you do.

Why can you not see, do you not let yourself see, how amazing you are? Your potential is limitless; your gifts are many. You have so much to offer the world. Stop denying yourself. Stop making yourself small.

Put aside what society has told you, what YOU have told you.

Be proud of your strengths and your gifts, for you are both strong and gifted. Know without a doubt that everything that you’ve been through has prepared you for what you are going through now, and will face in the future. You are strong. You are brave. You are valuable. You are something to be celebrated. Have the courage to stand up and acknowledge it.

Own the glorious, wonderful, magnificent being that is YOU.

Every day you are getting stronger,

even if it doesn't feel like it. Every day you are making progress, getting closer to achieving your goals and creating the life that you want. Remember that. Hold onto it when you are feeling frustrated and discouraged. Stay strong. Do not fear.

Everything is working out
exactly as it should.

About the Lantern Imagery

Courage doesn’t always feel bold. Sometimes it’s simply choosing to take one small step forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain. The lantern symbolizes that quiet kind of bravery — the kind that doesn’t wait for fear to pass, but lights the way through it. You carry your own light. You don't have to see the whole path — just enough to keep going.

You say that you aren't courageous.

And yet. Despite setbacks and heartache and uncertainty, you continue on.

You show up. You do the best you can with what you have.
You hold hope in your heart for a better tomorrow, a better future.

If that isn't courageous, I don't know what is.
